What is Microsuction Earwax removal?

The Pharmacist will perform an examination of your ears, using a cutting-edge otoscope. The examination is £10. This will determine the presence of wax. The pharmacist can then also show you pictures of the inside of your ears. (We will only charge you the remaining £85 if you have the ear wax removed).

If there is excessive ear wax, you will be asked to soften it using olive oil drops or spray for 5-7 days, and then return for a private ear microsuction procedure. We use a suction method to gently remove ear wax from the ear canals. This method is considered to be safer and more comfortable than other ear wax removal methods such as irrigation or ear syringing.

Our trained members of the pharmacy team will gently insert a small suction probe into the ear and use low suction pressure to remove the ear wax. The procedure is performed under magnification with a bright LED light giving a clear view of the ear canal and eardrum.
